Got it. The file viewer in 3D support jpg, png, xlxs, ppt, svg and pdf.
Hi,We have documented the supported file formats for 3D models and limitations here. By uploading your models via the UI, a processing of the files will start automatically and the models are ready to be viewed once the processing is done.We also support setting up extractors for 12 different formats, see screen for supported source systems.I hope this was helpful for the 3D part of your question.Ragnhild
Hi,I will try and help you out here, but I am unsure what you are asking for. Do you ask about what 3D formats we support? Or what file formates are supported by the file viewer in 3D?
Thanks for the feedback! Most of your comments is already in our backlog to be improved. And we are change the whole experience of detail cards overlaying the 3D scene, which we do believe will improve the overall experience a great deal. I will note down the request abou speed. I guess the need is to move quickly over large/wide areas? I will also note down the scene config request. We are thinking that the next build out of scenes is more in these lines. Fits well with time line. Though we would like to get the concept tested abit before we go for the next chunck of improvements. Again, thanks for engaging and providing the feedback. This is the best input for us when prioritizing improvements, and the way forward.
Hi @APSHANKAR Sagar , We are looking in to this, and we can not really reproduce this in our browsers. Is this still an issue for you? We are wondering if it is connected to Edge. Thanks,Ragnhild
Hi @Christoph,I want to provide an overdue update to this post. We are working on area and volume measures for the 3D browser in CDF. This will be released in June. The volume measure will be a resizable box, semi-transparent, showing the dimensions. Will this help you plan scaffolding for upcoming turnarounds?
Hi,Thanks for the input. I understand that this is creating an extra load to your workflow. We are doing a lot of improvements to CDF these days, and I added this one as a task to that work.
Great input. We are updating the designs for the detail card in 3D, adding it as a side bar instead of popup over the model view. This will enable more space to do a better filtering of content related to an object, including files. Though to be able to the filtering we are dependent on the document classification. This is being developed as we speak. Will update when we are enabled to do work on this.
After testing this we did not find a good way of finding what 360 image to jump to by using the arrow keys as the images has no direct relation to each other, including hight direction. Though, we will improve the 360 navigation, and some improvements is on its way.
Hi @Christoph,Interesting ideas you have added here. Is see that it is almost a year ago, though to me they still seems valide. We are revamping the whole 3D contextualization flow in the next months. I added your ideas to our roadmap, and we will evaluate them in the revamp. I definitely think the one about hiding is still very relevant. Will update when we have landed on designs.Ragnhild
Yes, these ideas are overlapping. We are developing a rule based coloring concept for 3D in Fusion as we speak. It will be in limited availability on the 5th of March. The rules can be created in the 3D management subapp, and the application of the rule in the 3D environment will be available via the new 3D viewer in Search. Keep in mind that this would also require to configure a scene. We will use your input both here and in the other thread to align the concept.
@Marcela Young This would sit with the 3D team 😊 We can report that this is under development and will be in a first version and limited availability on the 5th of March. The rules can be created in the 3D management subapp, and the application of the rule in the 3D environment will be available via the new 3D viewer in Search. Keep in mind that this would also require to configure a scene. We are happy to set up a meeting to walk you through the details 🙂
Hi Sverre.Thank you for highlighting a product improvement! We are looking into improved navigation in 3D data as we speak, improvements will be released in January and March. I will add this as input on the improved navigation in 360 images. Unsure where in the pipeline this is at the moment, but will keep you posted on progress. Ragnhild
We agree with you that this should be part of the tooling in our 3D viewer. A first iteration of this is planned to be part of the end of year release, enabling slicing in X/Y/Z direction. Though we have some more nuggets around slicing that we want to investigate further as well for later releases. Thanks!
Thank you for reaching out regarding integration to SP3D. We understand that this is a crucial aspect for our customers operations. At the moment, our development priorities do not include direct integration with SP3D due to certain constraints. However, we have identified a few workarounds that will help you in connecting to SP3D data:Navisworks 2022: If you have access to Navisworks 2022, you're in luck as it now supports SP3D out of the box. This provides a seamless way to connect and work with SP3D data without additional plugins. Navisworks Plugin (Prior to Navisworks 2022): For versions of Navisworks released prior to 2022, you can utilize a plugin available on the Autodesk App Store. This plugin enables Navisworks to import VUE files, allowing you to interact with SP3D data.We understand that these are not direct integrations, and they come with certain complexities. However, they can serve as viable solutions.
